Conception

My wife and I live in Cambridge, MA - North Cambridge, near Davis Square, to be exact. There are many good restaurants of all cuisines and price ranges nearby. We used to go out for dinner and drinks, but lately, since having a baby, we've been ordering take out instead. Once every week or two, we have this discussion about where to get food from - the Indian place, the Chinese place, the Thai place, Italian, Japanese, burgers, burritos. And what we always settle on is the Greek Corner (home, yelp), about three blocks away. Let me tell you why we love this place:

  • It's always packed. Every time I go to pick up, the restaurant is full, the staff are busy, and entrance is filled with people waiting to dine in or take out.
  • The food looks amazing. When I am waiting for my food, I always look at the food the kitchen sends out to the tables. More than once I've asked what different food items are.
  • They have never messed up an order. I never have to check to make sure they included everything I ordered, and they always give us extra pita bread on the side.
  • The price is reasonable. My wife gets a salad, we share an app, and I get an entree for less than $25.
  • Everything I've ever had there is good. What else do you need to know?
Last night we ordered a Greek Salad, Falafel appetizer, and a Souvlaki Plate (fries instead of rice). It was great! So great that I was thinking about it more this morning, wondering what I would get next. Everything I've ever gotten has been good, and I thought to myself that I eventually want to try everything!
And so this blog is born - we are taking the Greek Corner Challenge. With you as our witness, we are going to try everything on their menu and write about it here.

Disclaimer: We are not affiliated in with the Greek Corner in any way, other than being customers. The Greek Corner's management or owners are not aware of this effort, nor do they endorse it in any fashion.
